Preparation 

Our trip spent a lot of time preparing for our trip to get a better understanding of the places we are going, to learn some Hindi, and to raise money for organizations we will be visiting in India. One part of this was weekly meetings with the group to discuss the trip and learn more about India (See Presentations). Another part was going to see an art exhibit that features indigenous Indian art (See Many Visions, Many Versions). One last thing we did was we had a bake sale where we raised money for Pardada Pardadi Educational Society, which provides free education, job opportunities, healthcare, and livelihood enhancement for girls and women from the marginalized sections of society and enables them to break out of the cycle of poverty, and Butterflies which works to educate and impart life skills to vulnerable children so that they become self reliant and exit the generational cycle of illiteracy and poverty.
